Hugh Allen’s restaurant combines a substantial tasting-menu occasion with a distinctive garden setting and terracotta dining spaces.
Yiaga sits in the Pavilion at Fitzroy Gardens, with Hugh Allen’s Australian tasting menu at the centre of the visit. Curved terracotta spaces and garden-facing tables make the dining room part of the occasion. Give the meal three to four hours, then leave room in your day for arrival and an unhurried return.
Its service pattern matters for a Grand Prix week: dinner is Thursday to Saturday, lunch Friday to Sunday. A Thursday dinner can work before the main Friday–Sunday Formula 1 programme if you are not spending that evening at the circuit. A Friday, Saturday or Sunday lunch replaces several hours of track time; choose it deliberately, rather than fitting it between sessions.
The restaurant has announced A$350 per person for its tasting menu from 1 January 2027, before drinks. Reservations open three months ahead on the first day of the month at 10:00 Melbourne time. Confirm dietary suitability before reserving: Yiaga cannot make its menu completely free of both dairy and eggs, and a shared kitchen means cross-contact needs discussion.

Arrival & access
Enter Fitzroy Gardens from Clarendon Street between Gipps and Hotham Streets and follow the restaurant’s Pavilion arrival directions. No private on-site parking. Yiaga lists Jolimont Station around ten minutes away and trams 48 or 75 at stop 10; check current stop and service arrangements.

Reserve your table
Reserve through Yiaga’s official OpenTable link. Tables open three months ahead on the first of the month at 10:00 Melbourne time. Parties of one to four supply a card guarantee; five to eight pay A$100 per person as a deposit.
List every guest’s requirements when booking. The menu cannot be made completely dairy-and-egg-free; confirm other adaptations and cross-contact concerns directly before reserving.
Parties of one to four require 72 hours’ notice; late cancellation or a no-show can incur the menu price per affected guest. Parties of five to eight require seven days; late charges are the menu price less the deposit already paid.
Children eat the regular menu and should be comfortable with a three-to-four-hour meal. No highchairs or prams.
Keep your reservation confirmation and contact the restaurant promptly if your arrival or guest count changes.
