Fox Classic Car Collection
A rotating classic-car collection in Docklands, with timber galleries and step-free access across both levels.
01 / The experience
Classic cars inside a Docklands heritage warehouse.
Explore a rotating display of more than 50 classic cars across the Queen’s Warehouse galleries, a short walk from Southern Cross.
The Fox Classic Car Collection combines rare cars with one of Docklands’ distinctive historic buildings. Inside the Queen’s Warehouse, the upper gallery’s polished timber floor, brick arches and exposed roof beams form a striking setting for the vehicles. Give it an unhurried hour or two to look at bodywork, cabins and engineering details rather than treating it as a quick photo stop.
Lindsay Fox assembled the collection over decades, and more than 50 cars are displayed at a time from a much larger collection. Marques include Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, Porsche and Ferrari, with vehicles from different periods and styles. The display rotates, so a specific car shown in the gallery is not guaranteed for your date. Volunteers can answer questions, while the visit itself is self-guided; there are no driving or hands-on activities.
Normal public opening is Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10:00 to 14:00. Adult admission is A$19, concessions and seniors A$11, and children aged 6–15 A$9. A family ticket covers two adults and two children for A$45, while children aged five and under enter free. Online booking fees are additional. Choose a date that leaves enough of the four-hour opening window to see both levels, and bring the relevant card if you qualify for a reduced or free ticket.
The museum is west of Southern Cross Station on Collins Street, with site arrival and free parking via 1 Batmans Hill Drive. Both levels have accessible routes using lifts and ramps, and accessible bathrooms are available. Photography is generally allowed; ask the volunteers about any display-specific limits. There is no café inside, so plan food or coffee separately before or after your visit.
