01 / The experience
Williams Austin Fan Zone
Williams turns 800 Congress into a place to try the sport as well as follow the team. Drive a virtual lap of COTA, test your reactions or explore how a wind tunnel changes the way an object behaves. The full-size FW48 show car wears the special Marvel’s Doomsday livery, while the Austin comic and event merchandise give the stop a character of its own.
The live Q&As are the week’s fixed appointments: Alex Albon on Wednesday at 17:25; Luke Browning on Thursday at 11:00; James Vowles on Thursday at 18:00; and Damon Hill on Friday at 10:00. The sessions share the fan zone’s free-entry format and can fill quickly. Williams app registration is required before arrival.
Away from the stage, there is a Komatsu truck simulator and a Zoox display, with an Austin-designed poster by Cat Barrera. It makes a useful daytime anchor on Congress Avenue, particularly before the race days draw you out to COTA.
