Magdalen College

Widely considered one of Oxford's most beautiful colleges, combining the iconic bell tower, medieval cloisters, a resident deer herd and Addison's Walk beside the Cherwell. The May Morning tradition of choristers singing from the tower is famous.

Founded 1458. Founded in 1458 by William Waynflete, Bishop of Winchester and Lord Chancellor of England.

A masterpiece of Perpendicular Gothic, dominated by the great Magdalen Tower (completed 1509) and enclosing beautiful 15th-century cloisters. Its grounds include a deer park, riverside walks and extensive gardens.
