SUMMIT One Vanderbilt
A skyline experience built around mirrored rooms, glass ledges and immersive installations.
01 / The experience
A skyline that becomes part of the room.
A skyline experience built around mirrored rooms, glass ledges and immersive installations.
SUMMIT makes the view part of an immersive artwork. Mirrors multiply the skyline, the visitors and the light, so the experience changes as you move through the room. Choose it when that visual intensity appeals as much as identifying the buildings beyond the glass.
Kenzo Digital’s Air gives the visit its central sequence. Transcendence opens into a world of reflections, then the later spaces introduce different ways to interact with the installation. The effect is deliberately disorienting: looking down or across the room can be as striking as looking through the windows. Bright conditions and reflective surfaces are part of the experience, which matters for anyone who finds intense light or heights difficult.
Levitation makes the height more direct, with glass ledges projecting above Madison Avenue. It is a specific part of the attraction rather than simply another angle from a conventional observation deck. Après and the terrace offer a different finish, with food or drinks purchased according to the package or order you choose. Ascent, the exterior elevator, is a separate feature when comparing admission options.
The character of the light can shape the visit as much as the skyline. Daylight makes the mirrored rooms bright; the evening sequence changes their atmosphere. Choose a time for the experience you want, then leave enough room to move through it instead of planning to arrive, take one photograph and leave immediately.
Grand Central gives the surrounding day an easy focus. A look around the terminal and a meal near the station can accompany SUMMIT without another major cross-city transfer. The attraction has its own street-level arrival and timed entry, however, so a train arriving at Grand Central is only the start of reaching the experience.

Tickets & visit detailsWhen to visit
Daily 08:00–00:00; last entry 22:30. Select the actual timed entry shown during booking.
SUMMIT is one of the easier Manhattan attractions to pair with an evening session because the 7 connection is at Grand Central. Choose a daytime slot with room for the visit, lunch and grounds entry afterwards. Sunset belongs on a city evening when the sky experience is the main booking; it is a poor reservation to place after a tennis session with an uncertain finish.
Arrive
Grand Central–42 St · 4/5/6/7/S. Follow SUMMIT signs at Grand Central or use the street entrance at 45 East 42nd Street. The attraction entrance is separate from an office entrance to One Vanderbilt.

Journey times are estimates for ordinary daytime service, including the street approach. Add security, queues and any ferry or tram crossing separately. For a step-free journey, choose suitable stations and operating lifts; these routes are not an accessibility guarantee.
Choose a Manhattan base for the city outing, then use the guide’s stadium journey for the separate trip to Queens.
Plan your visit
Reserve a timed ticket; sunset and package choices change the price. Standard Experience includes the immersive floors, but not Ascent or food and drinks. Bring sunglasses and permitted footwear; all sales are final.
