01 / The experience

San Ángel Inn · restaurant

Make lunch the unhurried centre of your San Ángel outing. San Ángel Inn serves Mexican and international cooking in a historic setting, with a main dining room and courtyard areas. Reserve the setting you prefer and ask what can actually be confirmed for your party; a garden table is not automatic.

Allow around two hours and choose your order from the current menu. Tell the restaurant about allergies, vegetarian needs, children and access requirements before reserving. For a shorter or lower-cost visit, ask whether a lighter meal is possible at your chosen sitting and check the likely bill first.

Visit the studio museum in the morning, leave a pause, then settle in for lunch. On a Saturday, add El Bazaar Sábado only if you want a longer day. Breakfast in separately named dining areas has its own hours and arrangements; this guide’s lunch plan uses the main restaurant. Despite the name, this is a restaurant stop, not a hotel booking.
