01 / The experience

Volare · Teotihuacán shared balloon flight

Book a morning flight on a free day early in your stay, leaving another day available if weather prevents flying. The shared flight lasts around 30–50 minutes; the complete outing also includes check-in, ground recovery, breakfast and travel. The wind determines the route, so a particular view over a pyramid is never guaranteed.

Choose the flight with return transport, or ask for extended transport with around three hours at the archaeological zone. Archaeological admission is extra. Keep the remainder of the day flexible and avoid an onward flight or a fixed circuit arrival immediately afterwards.

Compare the full price: The regular shared-flight adult price is MXN 2,900, with CDMX hotel transport listed at MXN 500 extra per person: MXN 3,400 before optional extras. Mexican breakfast is included. Obtain the extended-transfer total separately; foreign-visitor archaeological admission adds MXN 210. The October discount ends before race week.

Confirm your pickup: The example schedule starts at the balloonport at 06:00, but your booking time controls. Pickup is from eligible tourist-area hotels, excluding private homes and Airbnb. Confirm the hotel, time and driver details the previous morning. Independent arrivals use the operator’s Volare balloonport directions on Carretera libre a Tulancingo, km 27.5.

Passenger requirements: Minimum age five; passengers must stand unassisted. The regular fare covers up to 110 kg, with a supplement above this and a maximum of 150 kg. The operator excludes pregnancy, postpartum, recent surgery and recent alcohol or drug use. Discuss any mobility needs before booking and bring the required identification.

Cancellation choice: Standard bookings can be cancelled or moved up to 48 hours before without penalty; promotional fares prohibit cancellation but permit rescheduling within six months. A no-show is non-refundable. Weather cancellation or rescheduling has separate terms; confirm the refund process and treatment of transport before paying.

Comfort and return: Wear closed shoes, long trousers and warm layers. Allow 6–8 hours door to door for the flight outing, longer with archaeology. Landing is elsewhere and the ground crew returns passengers to the balloonport; a hotel return must be part of your selected package.
