North — Huntingdon Road
Founded 1954. Founded in 1954 as New Hall, the university's third foundation for women, opening with sixteen students in Silver Street, it was renamed in 2008 to honour founding President Dame Rosemary Murray and a £30 million gift from alumna Ros Edwards and her husband Steve.
A white modernist ensemble of the 1960s by Chamberlin, Powell and Bon — the architects of the Barbican — centres on the Dome, a dining hall roofed by spreading concrete petals, set among gardens and the Darwin family's former Orchard on Huntingdon Road.
