Founded 1768. Homerton traces its origins to a dissenting academy that acquired premises in Homerton, east London, in 1768, sustained by a fund of 1695 for educating ministers barred from the old universities; refounded for teacher training in the nineteenth century, it moved to Cambridge in 1894 and became a full self-governing college of the university by Royal Charter in 2010.
Victorian Gothic buildings inherited from the short-lived Cavendish College anchor a leafy site between Hills Road and the railway, joined by the Queen's Wing of 1957 and Feilden Fowles's faceted new dining hall of 2022.
