North — Norham Gardens
Founded 1878. Founded in 1878 as Oxford's first hall for the higher education of women, named after Lady Margaret Beaufort, mother of Henry VII; it became fully co-residential in the late 20th century.
A spacious North Oxford campus of mainly red-brick buildings, including work by Reginald Blomfield and the Byzantine-style chapel. Its expansive riverside gardens running down to the River Cherwell are a defining feature.
