Founded 1786. Traces its origins to the Manchester Academy, a dissenting academy founded in 1786; it moved to Oxford in 1889 and gained full collegiate status by Royal Charter in 1996, named after benefactor Lord Harris of Peckham.

Late-Victorian Gothic Revival by Thomas Worthington (completed 1893), notable for a chapel decorated with Pre-Raphaelite stained glass by Edward Burne-Jones and William Morris.
