01 / The stay

Put the useful extras ahead of a grand entrance

An optional resort fee is tied to the eligible offer; other rates may carry different fees and race-week restrictions.

Treasure Island is worth comparing when you want a recognisable Strip resort and would rather direct more of the holiday budget towards race admission or an experience. Its useful features are unusually concrete: registered guests have free self-parking and valet, and rooms include a small refrigerator. Those are everyday advantages on a multi-night stay, especially if you have a car for a desert outing. The room is a practical base rather than the whole reason for the trip. A fridge is useful for drinks or breakfast provisions, while the absence of an in-room coffee maker changes how you organise the morning. Those details can matter more after a late finish than an elaborate list of decorative finishes. Different room and rate choices still need to be compared as actual offers rather than assuming every discounted headline includes the same fees.

TI's location is relevant for visitors using Gilley's as their race venue, with a much clearer relationship between the hotel and that choice than a generic “near the circuit” description. It is also a starting point for exploring the north-central Strip. For other viewing areas, the route across the event layout is the comparison to make before deciding that the cheaper hotel is also the easier one.

This is a good fit for independent travellers who will use the parking, keep some provisions in the room and spend their money outside it. It is less compelling if private arrivals, a non-gaming environment or an expansive suite are central to the holiday. The attraction is the combination of location and useful inclusions, with the exact resort-fee treatment determined by the rate you actually buy.
