Lapis Spa & Wellness
Fontainebleau’s treatment and thermal spa, with pools, sauna sessions and private-suite options; Fri–Sun access is for hotel guests.
01 / The experience
Build the visit around the thermal spaces, then choose the treatment.
Lapis is especially appealing when a massage alone feels like too short a break from the city. Fontainebleau's spa combines treatments with a broad set of thermal and relaxation spaces, so the choice is whether you want a focused appointment or a longer visit that moves between water, heat and a quiet seat. Friday-to-Sunday access is restricted to registered hotel guests; visitors staying elsewhere can use the Monday-to-Thursday public-access window.
The facilities give the spa its own character. Vitality pools, a cold plunge, steam and infrared sauna offer different temperatures and settings. The Himalayan Salt Room, Star and Snow Showers and heated tepidarium chairs add other ways to shape the time between treatments. You do not need to use every room to make the visit worthwhile. Choose the parts you enjoy and the facilities appropriate to you, rather than treating the list as a programme to complete.
The Event Sauna has an organised Aufguss schedule, making it a more structured experience than simply sitting in a sauna whenever a space opens. Those sessions can influence which facility window you reserve. Stargazing Lounge provides another setting for a pause between the more active thermal spaces. For someone who enjoys the spa environment as much as the treatment itself, these are useful reasons to allow a substantial part of the day.
Treatment choices include massage, facials and body work, while the Reboot Lounge focuses on feet and lower legs. That may be particularly attractive after several days of walking, though a treatment should be chosen for your own needs rather than a promise of recovery or a medical result. Discuss pressure, sensitivities and any conditions directly with the spa team so the appointment is suitable.
For a group celebrating together, Supernova Suite offers a more private arrangement, with a lounge and whirlpool and capacity for up to eight. It is a different purchase from individual treatments booked at similar times. Ask for the actual exclusive-use period and what the package includes before deciding whether the suite is worth the additional cost.
The published facility sessions are Lo-Tide from 10:00 to 13:00 and Hi-Tide from 14:00 to 17:00, within the spa's longer operating day. A treatment at another time does not automatically establish a full-day facility pass. Put the treatment and thermal access into the same reservation conversation. For a Fontainebleau stay, this can be a substantial daytime experience without another transfer; for non-residents, it belongs on a permitted weekday before or after the race weekend.
