Absinthe
Close-up acrobatics and explicit adult comedy in Caesars Palace’s spiegeltent, with garden bars and optional VIP packages.
01 / The experience
A small circus tent with a very adult sense of humour.
Absinthe gets its energy from how close everything feels. Inside the spiegeltent at Caesars Palace, the central stage sits among a compact audience, with mirrors and the tent's intimate scale making acrobatic acts feel very different from a large arena production. The comedy is deliberately adult, and that is a central part of choosing it: this is an evening for people who enjoy irreverent, sexually explicit humour alongside physical skill.
The 80-minute format gives it a sharp place in an evening. There is no interval, and the mixture of acrobatics and comedy moves through one continuous performance. A seat close to the action can be part of the fun, but the small room means that buying the most expensive ticket is not the only way to feel involved. Use the actual seating plan to decide how much proximity you want, especially if you would rather avoid being near audience interaction.
The surroundings are more than a queue outside a tent. Green Fairy Garden and its Electric Oak, with thousands of illuminated leaves, create a place to arrive before the show. Pier 17 Yacht Club and No Pants burgers and tots give the outing a less formal food-and-drink direction than a multi-course restaurant reservation. That can work well for a party who want an entertaining night without dressing the whole evening around fine dining.
Premium bookings change the experience in specific ways. Impresario VIP adds an elevated table and the drinks stated in the offer. Gazillac VIP goes further, combining show benefits with an Escalade IQ transfer and food and drink elements. Those are separate packages, so compare the actual inclusion list rather than assuming every VIP ticket includes transport or an open bar. A race-week transfer also needs an agreed pickup that remains reachable during closures.
Absinthe is a particularly good counterpoint to the scale of an F1 weekend. After grandstands and enormous stages, the close-up circus setting feels different. It suits a group who want a shared laugh and are comfortable with the material. It is not a family alternative to “O”, even if the acrobatics appeal to younger travellers: admission starts at 18, with some premium drink packages restricted to 21 and over.
Choose the performance time before booking dinner. An early meal and show can fit comfortably on a free night, while a late performance requires a realistic journey from wherever you are spending the evening. The published Friday and Saturday schedule includes a 23:00 option, but that does not guarantee a workable connection from the race. The reservation should fit the time you can actually arrive.
