Café Cayo
A larger neighbourhood café with its own roasting and a substantial lunch offer in an area not yet represented in the guide.
01 / The experience
A curved room and a coffee-roasting identity.
Café Cayo opens out into a broader room than many of Paris' small specialty cafés. A curved line of windows follows the corner, with pale wooden tables, green and yellow seating and a slatted timber counter. The arrangement gives the café space for a longer sit-down visit, while keeping the bar at the centre of the room.
Coffee roasting and a proper lunch
Coffee roasting is part of the business's identity. The drink can therefore be the focus of a short visit, but Cayo also has a more substantial lunch offer. That makes it useful as a food stop in its own right, rather than only somewhere to collect a cup between other bookings. The dishes and service available vary with the day's menu.
A corner café in the 13th arrondissement
The pavement tables extend the setting outside, looking onto rue du Chevaleret and the surrounding streets of the 13th arrondissement. Indoors, the broad windows, cream columns and timber bar give the room a clear visual character. It has more of a neighbourhood café-and-lunch rhythm than the tiny counter-and-two-stools format found elsewhere in the city.
This side of Paris broadens the guide beyond the familiar western and central sightseeing districts. Cayo's appeal is not a view of a major monument: it is the combination of its own coffee, a proper daytime food offer and a room large enough for the meal to be part of the visit.
