Designed around the capital’s architectural contrasts, its 6.003 km lap features a tight, claustrophobic climb up Turn 8—where cars thread a 7.6-meter gap around the 12th-century UNESCO fortress walls of Icherisheher—before launching onto a staggering 2.2-kilometer flat-out blast along Neftchilar Avenue where cars reach 350 km/h (217 mph) on the long waterfront straight before deploying Overtake Mode electrical energy into Turn 1.

For international spectators, Baku demands strategic planning around its calendar and geography. The 2027 race weekend runs Friday to Sunday, with the Grand Prix on 26 September. Furthermore, the circuit’s concrete barriers physically bisect downtown Baku, cutting off the city center from the Caspian promenade. Knowing the exact locations of elevated pedestrian footbridges is essential to avoid getting stranded before sessions.
