01 The experience

### What to expect.

Make this your main Singapore art visit. The Gallery connects City Hall and the former Supreme Court, giving you grand civic rooms, contemporary museum spaces and a substantial collection visit in one morning.

### Choose art, architecture or both

For art, begin with **Singapore Stories: Pathways and Detours in Art** in the DBS Singapore Gallery. Paintings, installations and visual culture explore changing ideas of home, work and identity from the 19th century onwards. General admission covers this exhibition.

For architecture, join **Building Highlights**, a free tour of about an hour. It connects the buildings’ history with the transformation that made them a gallery. An admission ticket is not required, but you must register early and places are limited.

Allow two to three hours if you want both. On 9–11 October, arrive at opening and use the Coleman Street entrance. The UOB Southeast Asia Gallery is closed until late 2027, so build your visit around the exhibitions that are open.

02

Look closer

### Highlights worth your time.

The strongest reasons to include this place in your plans.

01

#### Singapore Stories

Explore the DBS Singapore Gallery’s story of Singapore through art. The display brings together established figures such as Georgette Chen and Liu Kang with different media and perspectives, allowing a deeper sense of the city than a quick landmark photograph.

02

#### The buildings behind the art

Building Highlights takes in spaces such as the City Hall Chamber, Singapore Courtyard and former Supreme Court holding cells, according to the day’s route. Register for the tour rather than assuming you can enter every room independently.

03

#### A shorter free visit

Make the architecture tour your main experience if you have an hour and do not want a full art visit. The Gallery also lists non-ticketed areas, including the ArchiGallery, but opening and access can vary by space. Ask visitor services for a focused route.

04

#### Keep the weekend workable

An opening-time visit gives you an indoor cultural morning before the evening racing. Roof decks and windows are not a substitute for a race ticket or a guaranteed viewing position.

03 / Before you go

### Plan your visit

Pair Singapore art with the architecture of City Hall and the former Supreme Court.

Thursday–Sunday 10:30 · register by 10:00

The Gallery remains open during F1. The Padang-facing Atrium entrance is inaccessible 5–11 October 2026.

Supreme Court Lane is inaccessible 9–11 October, 19:00–02:00. The carpark closes 9 October at 10:00 and reopens 13 October at 07:00.

#### Enter from Coleman Street

National Gallery Singapore

1 St Andrew’s Road, Singapore 178957

From City Hall MRT, take Exit B and follow the Art Connector towards the Coleman Street entrance.

Coleman Street, Parliament Place and the Atrium entrance facing the Supreme Court remain open during the published F1 restrictions. Use Coleman Street for visitor services and wheelchair loans.

Tell your driver which entrance you need and confirm the permitted race-week approach. The venue address does not provide access through a closed circuit road.

[Gallery entrances & F1 access](<https://www.nationalgallery.sg/sg/en/visit/visitor-information.html>)

#### Book art; register for the building tour

Choose General Admission for Singapore Stories: Pathways and Detours in Art, in the DBS Singapore Gallery on Level 2.

The free Building Highlights tour does not require an admission ticket. Register at least 30 minutes before it starts; places are first come, first served.

[Choose Gallery tickets](<https://www.nationalgallery.sg/sg/en/direct-purchase.html>)

Ask the City Hall Wing Tours & Programmes Counter or Visitor Services about that day’s tour meeting point. Tours can be cancelled and places are limited.

#### A race-week morning

Arrive at opening for a focused two- to three-hour visit, then leave time for lunch, security and your ticketed circuit gate. Circuit access is separate from Gallery admission; the building and roof decks do not promise race viewing.

#### Accessibility

All galleries and the Building Highlights tour are wheelchair accessible. Free wheelchair loans are available at visitor services; use the open Coleman Street entrance during the F1 restrictions.

Lifts, accessible toilets and the B1 Calm Room support a slower visit. Bring a light layer for climate-controlled galleries.

### A worthwhile first visit

Enter from Coleman Street and stop at visitor services. If you want the English Building Highlights tour at 10:30, register by 10:00 at the Tours & Programmes Counter or Visitor Services. The tour runs Thursday–Sunday, subject to the day’s schedule and available places.

After the architecture tour, visit Singapore Stories on Level 2 of the City Hall Wing. Give the art time rather than trying to cover every floor. Bring a light layer for the cooler galleries and put large bags or umbrellas in the B1 lockers.

### Admission

Other-nationality general admission is **S$20**; **All Access is S$30**. General admission is the straightforward choice for Singapore Stories. Look at the additional exhibitions before upgrading.

Singapore citizens and permanent residents have free general admission. Children aged 6 and under, eligible Singapore-based students and teachers, and people with disabilities plus one caregiver receive free entry after the required checks. Other concessions also require proof of eligibility.

### Getting there during F1

From City Hall MRT, use Exit B and the Art Connector towards Coleman Street. This entrance remains open during the published restrictions, as do Parliament Place and the Atrium entrance facing the Supreme Court.

The **Padang-facing Atrium entrance is inaccessible 5–11 October**. Supreme Court Lane is inaccessible **9–11 October, 19:00–02:00**. The carpark closes **9 October at 10:00**, reopening **13 October at 07:00**. Confirm your driver’s permitted approach instead of relying on the normal car route.

The galleries remain open **10:00–19:00**, last admission **18:30**. Leave time afterwards to reach your circuit gate, including security and controlled crossings.

04

Visit your way

### Access and family planning.

Accessibility guide

All galleries and the Building Highlights tour are wheelchair accessible. During the F1 entrance restrictions, use Coleman Street for visitor services, lifts and wheelchair loans. Standard-size motorised wheelchairs are permitted; ask staff if your equipment needs a particular route.

Manual wheelchairs are loaned free of charge at visitor services. The Coleman Street visitor counter is in the City Hall Courtyard. Accessible toilets and lifts serve the museum; the B1 Calm Room provides a quieter place to pause.

Bring a light layer for the climate-controlled galleries and plan rest stops during a longer visit. Children need adult supervision, and strollers can enter the galleries. Ask the B1 counter for assistance with a large stroller.
