Inside the Monaco guide

#### Precision racing between ancient limestone and superyacht harbour.

Experience motorsport’s crown jewel in the Principality of Monaco. Balance high-stakes street racing past the Casino and harbour with realistic travel planning: discover why basing in Nice beats overpriced hotels, decode the cliffside train station exits, and compare grandstands against private terrace balconies.

The Monaco Grand Prix is the most historic, uncompromising street race in the world. Cars brush armco barriers at 280 km/h through the tunnel and thread the needle around the iconic Fairmont Hairpin—the slowest corner on the entire calendar at just 48 km/h.

For spectators, attending Monaco requires looking past glossy marketing and understanding practical geography. The Principality measures just 2 square kilometers, leading to extreme congestion, steep vertical topography, and eye-watering hotel pricing. Basing in Nice or border towns like Beausoleil and taking the train is the secret that veteran fans have relied on for decades.

Compare grandstands, balconies and yacht packages by their actual track view. Check the floor or deck, catering and access included, then choose a hotel around your return train or walk.

The principality

### Make time for
*what the race hides.*

The city the circuit runs through, for the fifty-one weeks a year it belongs to everyone else.

- The climb out of Sainte Dévote, empty for fifty-one weeks of the year.
- Port Hercule, before the barriers go up.
- Casino Square, where the circuit runs past the front doors.
- The descent to Portier and the tunnel mouth.
- Larvotto, the other side of the principality.
- The Rock, above everything the race occupies.
- Terraces that overlook the track because the track came later.
- The harbour at dusk, ten days before first practice.
- Turn seven, and the wall that has ended more races than any other.

The circuit

### Two miles of public road,
*closed for four days.*

Eighteen corners, the start line and the grandstands we can place. The shading is the ticketed perimeter: inside it, on race days, you need a pass to walk at all.

| --- | --- |
| When do Monaco Grand Prix 2027 tickets go on sale? | General public sales open Thursday 1 October 2026 through the official Monaco Grand Prix website, app and ACM ticket office at 44 rue Grimaldi. ACM member presale began 17 September 2026. |
| Are there child tickets for Monaco 2027? | Children aged 6–15 enter grandstands free on Thursday. Eligible grandstands offer half-price Friday–Sunday child tickets. Gold seating and the standing zones have no published Friday–Sunday child fare; child package fares are not listed. |
| Is Monaco 2027 a Sprint weekend? | Yes. Friday has F1 practice and Sprint Qualifying; Saturday has the Sprint and Grand Prix qualifying; Sunday has the 78-lap Grand Prix. F2, F3 and Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup also race. The daily programme is confirmed, with exact times to follow. |
| Is it better to stay in Nice or Monaco for the Grand Prix? | Nice is significantly better for 90% of fans. Monaco hotels charge €1,500–€5,000/night with strict 4-night minimums. Nice is just 20 minutes away by direct SNCF double-decker train, offering vibrant dining, beaches, and affordable hotels. |
| How much do Monaco F1 2027 tickets cost? | Adult grandstands cost €40 Thursday, €250–€300 Friday, €550–€900 Saturday and €800–€1,150 Sunday. Saturday–Sunday packages cost €1,215–€1,845; Friday–Sunday packages cost €1,440–€2,115. Standing tickets cost €75 / €150 / €300 for Zone Z and €50 / €100 / €200 for Rocher on Friday / Saturday / Sunday. |
| Which grandstand is the best at the Monaco Grand Prix? | Grandstand K is widely considered the best seat, offering panoramic views of Port Hercule from Tabac through the Swimming Pool complex, with giant screens and views of the luxury yachts. Grandstand B overlooks Casino Square, while Grandstand A captures Turn 1 Sainte-Dévote. |
| Are private apartment balcony tickets legitimate at the Monaco Grand Prix? | Yes, if booked through verified race agencies. Balconies along Boulevard Albert 1er provide elevated views over the start straight, pit lane, and Sainte-Dévote. Ensure your package specifies your floor height, exact viewing angle, and hospitality/catering inclusions. |
| What is the dress code for the Casino de Monte-Carlo during F1 week? | During daytime tourist hours (10:00–13:00), smart casual is permitted (no beachwear or running shorts). After 14:00 and in the evening, smart attire is required; dark leather shoes, collared shirts, and jackets for men in the private gaming salons. |
| Is a Monaco yacht hospitality ticket worth the money? | Only if you book a Zone 1 trackside berth with unobstructed direct sightlines. Many cheaper yacht packages are docked in secondary rows where you face away from the track and only watch the race on TV screens. |
| Can you walk on the Monaco F1 track during race weekend? | The programme includes circuit reopening each day. Wait until roads and pedestrian access are officially released before planning a track walk; exact 2027 reopening times are still to be announced. |
