Gimlet at Cavendish House
Andrew McConnell’s CBD dining room and cocktail bar, with Friday and Saturday supper from 22:00.
01 / The experience
A city dining room that keeps the evening open.
Combine a European-leaning à la carte dinner with cocktails in Cavendish House, or reserve a late Friday or Saturday supper.
Gimlet brings Andrew McConnell’s cooking to Cavendish House on Russell Street. Choose oysters and smaller dishes, or make dinner around shared wood-fired meat and seafood. The cocktail bar, intimate booths and dressed tables give you several ways to spend an evening in central Melbourne.
It serves from noon seven days a week, with a separate supper menu on Friday and Saturday from 22:00 to 01:00. That later service is useful after a long venue day, provided your reservation leaves time for the trip back from Albert Park. It also works for a relaxed non-tennis lunch or an evening before the weekend starts.
There is no single fixed price for an à la carte dinner. The currently linked supper menu lists a A$28 cheeseburger, A$12 fries and A$24–25 listed cocktails; a burger and fries total A$40 before drinks. That is a smaller late meal, not the cost of a full fine-dining dinner. Reserve a table for your preferred service and check the menu and any table time limit with the team.
